Poison for the Fairies, mostly

I'm still alive! I want to write about some different things, but I'm also very tired.

Things like, why should I bother posting when there are so many more important things in the world, how am I going to survive on a student's budget, meeting my new lolita community, things I've bought recently (pre quitting my job), quitting my job, etc.

It's unlikely I'll write about all those things. However, something else!

I watched a movie recently called Poison for the Fairies. What a good movie! It was recommended in the comments section of Rufflechat when someone asked about aesthetic movies.

A girl laying on a bed of straw. Subtitle "I want to be the most wicked of all" This is a screenshot from the movie Poison for the Fairies.

One of my favourite things about this movie, besides the aesthetics and getting to see a movie created by another culture was that the faces of adults were never shown (except in two very specific circumstances). I loved to watch how the camera work was done to avoid showing their faces, while allowing them to move around in the shot.

My husband didn't care for the movie, which is too bad. He doesn't share my passion for uncanny things.

I've actually got a list going, of movies that I love for their aesthetic. Maybe, I will make a separate page for them. I need to update my book list too. And also complete my registration at the library here! The "ToDo" list is never ending.

Me wearing a causal lolita coordinate with blues, pinks and whites. My skirt is blue. It is an oldschool coordinate. I am standing in the shade and holding a parasol in a sunny garden.

 Above is a photo taken at the meetup I went to two weekends ago. It was small and very casual which was nice and not so overwhelming. One of the girls was really into taking photos. Much appreciated! A big thank you to her, she was great. I just need to learn how to pose better ^^;

  1. It's amazing when a comm has a willing and eager photographer, I've always admired other people's candids, but I hardly have any myself.
    Make sure to find some time for yourself to unwind. I know just how easy it is to focus too much on the to do lists and neglect rest - I guess it's a "do as I say, not as I do" thing :P

    1. I think I've failed to rest >__<
      The semester starts tomorrow and there has been this never ending list of things to get finished. So every day, I was ticking something off that list.
      At least, I met with my supervisor today, he reassured me and I'm not exactly exploding with stress yet ^__^;
