Item Feature #1

This is a blouse by Angelic Pretty called Proper Girl Spindle Blouse. I love it because it reminds me of all the feels when I first found out about lolita. It would be nice to own this blouse or one like it! This blouse was released in 2009. But that's not really a big deal. It's the same year that Milky-chan was released.

The Wardrobe Post 2019

This year I've tried to better document what all the items I have are. I kinda ran out of steam towards the end. Maybe I will work on it later on. Wardrobe posts are kinda difficult to do! However, it was an amazing opportunity to reorganize my closet and also decide what things I don't want to keep anymore. I've listed stuff for sale on Lacemarket and there are still more things to list. Things that didn't get included were a few items such as a blouse, a dress, bloomers and socks. This is because they were in the wash or I didn't feel like photographing them.
I'm quite happy with where my wardrobe is right now. It's amazing to be able to buy a dress or skirt and not need to buy new things to be able to make a coordinate. It's also become way more cohesive which I'm happy about too!
There are a still a few more things that I'd like to buy for my wardrobe... but I'm kind of short on room and I'm moving soon. I think I'll make a wish list post. I had wanted to just make it a page on this blog, which maybe I'll do too. The way I'm thinking of it is that the page is something that would be periodically updated whereas posts are like snapshots in time of what I was currently wanting.

Anyway, that was a lot of text! ^^; Enjoy my wardrobe post!

Black? In MY Wardrobe?

I really want to make a wardrobe post. However, right now it seems too daunting to do. I thought maybe I would dress up the dress form that we have to show off my wardrobe. Of course it's even more work to do this... (what was I thinking??)

Anyway, I created one coordinate with a dress I've been thinking about parting ways with and then I decided to just create coordinates for all my black coloured items. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how to get the hair piece to go along with the dress form so you will have to use your imagination.

Here is a relic of my old style! I really love lavender x black coordinates. This was also the first expensive dress I ever bought. It makes it hard to let it go. The main reason I want to sell this is because it's black and doesn't go along with the rest of my wardrobe.

JSK and bag: We're All Mad Here
Blouse: Alice and the Pirates
Socks: Angelic Pretty
Shoes: Bodyline

My first Milky-Chan piece. <3 Again, my old style...  I really love this skirt, but I think I'd rather have it in pink (or sax from the other non polka dot version of this skirt). I can't see myself letting go of this until I am able to find the skirt (or even JSK) in my preferred colourway. The appliqué is just too awesome.

Blouse and bolero: Bodyline
Everything else: Angelic Pretty

I have such mixed feelings about this outfit. It is hard to describe. I feel like it is almost on the verge of Ero Lolita which is a substyle that I'm not really a fan of...

Blouse and skirt: Bodyline
Socks and choker: Innocent World
Shoes and bag: Baby, the Stars Shine Bright
Parasol: Angelic Pretty

Maybe later in the month I'll try again to make a wardrobe post. I believe it would be a good opportunity for me to look at what I have and do a wardrobe cleaning.

In other news, check out this blurry photo of a Cooper's Hawk hanging around in our back yard.
What I wore skating with my family today. Wish I could have gotten a photo of myself on the ice but I don't think any of us even brought our phones. I hope one day to be somewhat better skilled at skating. I always feel pretty awkward on the ice!

2018 in Review

I just want to write a quick review of how my year went.

I successfully read one book a month. I would like to keep up with this habit into 2019.

I practised meditation and yoga more consistently. Right now, I'm going through physio and the physiotherapist has told me not to do anything with forward bends, which now makes some of my favourite things to do in yoga unavailable...

I didn't end up making something every month. School took up a lot of my time and made it very difficult to keep up with hobbies other than reading. I did spend a lot more time on the internet than I wanted. It is possible that I didn't allocate my time appropriately. Ruby Granger on YouTube made a video where she suggested creating a list of things for yourself to do so that you don't waste time like I did. I think I will try it out.

Even though 2018 was a very difficult year, I feel more stable. Things that I wouldn't have been able to do before, I can do now. I get angry less.

It feels as if who I am as a person is changing. Something that is kind of not so great is that I feel differently about lolita. It is hard to put into words. It reminds me of how some of my favourite JFashion bloggers/YouTubers left the fashions they were involved with. How it was disappointing but it also made sense. I'd rather people share their story with people online than create their story based on what people want.

I'm interested to see what 2019 will be like. I may have accomplished a goal that has taken over 10 years to complete, for example. I hope I can use the year as a 'feeler'. Luckily, I think I am in a position where I can do that.

And now it is time for some photos of some rando things I did!

Ramblings on a Sunday

It's the first time I've worn lolita in a while.  My coordinate for church: I can't wait to get my new bag from Cotton Candy Sh...
