Cat Ears in Lolita?

In a recent Rufflechat post about unpopular opinions in lolita fashion, someone mentioned that appropriately coordinated and good quality animal ears is not ita isn't an unpopular opinion. I seem to recall that they were a big faux pas before. It's interesting to see how the fashion evolves.

From my personal experience, it is more popular now to wear animal ears, bear ears especially. I do not see cat ears around too much, maybe because they were iconically ita those negative feelings about them are still hovering around in the back of people's minds.

Anyway~

Whenever I wear Angelic Pretty's Vanilla-chan JSK I end up pairing it with cat ears.

This JSK is good for cold weather. It is mostly constructed out of a woolen houndstooth fabric. It also has two pockets and a light interior petticoat which is typical of Angelic Pretty's garments.

Another feature of this dress is that it has thin waist ties with these cute furry pom-poms at the end of them.

Coordinate rundown:
JSK: Angelic Pretty Vanilla-chan JSK
Cutsew + Socks: BTSSB
Bracelet + Ring + Bag: Angelic Pretty
Shoes + Wristcuffs: Bodyline
Fur Collar + Cat Ears: H&M
Ear Warmers: Aldo

Baby, the Stars Shine Bright Seraffi JSK Coordinate Planning

I've had this JSK for a few years now, and I've never made a full coordinate with it.

Wearing it out recently, I realized two things:
  1. I love the way this dress looks, I'd prefer not to sell it
  2. I've become rather frustrated with trying to coordinate this dress

A large part of the problem was that I would have to invest a lot of money into making this a full coordinate. But, I've decided to finally do it so that instead of experiencing frustration I can have a coord that makes me enjoy wearing this dress.

Someone on the Amino app posted Valentine's day coordinate ideas wherein they created mock coords. It inspired me to create a collage in order to construct a possible coordinate for this dress.

Here is what I have come up with so far:

I've selected two possible boleros, to give more room for diversity. I'm also considering other leg wear (possibly patterned tights). I chose the brown oxfords because they were an item I already own and matched them with the brown BTSSB bag which I was planning to buy for other coordinates. My hair is also brown. Is that enough justification for the brown shoes? (hah)

The Snow Swan ring by Enchantlic Enchantilly has blue roses and a classic feel to it. A person suggested to me that I try out gold jewelry with this dress. I already have a gold coloured bracelet with a white rose on it and earrings that I think are also suitable.

The blues do not match, but hopefully there are enough different shades of blue that they will all sort of fit together (hopefully).

Ramblings on a Sunday
